and be changed
yet remain the same
may my soul retain a light
at its center
and shine
a candle's flicker
I sit and watch the birds
and listen
and remind myself of
who and what and Whose I am
A sparrow skips by
unaware, unafraid,
its claws skritching the gravel
and I smile

Hello, friends! It's been a while. I took an unplanned but much-needed break as I made some big transitions in my life, and though I wasn't sure if I'd ever return to this blog, I began to miss it.
So here I am. And here you are.
Wow, you're an amazing writer. I love both of these poems so much! I love how they're short and meaningful <3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jolly! I'm so glad you like them.
DeleteAhhhh, I adore these poems. <3 you're so talented!

Nice to hear from you Serena! Lately I've been reading a lot of poetry and writing some too. These are very beautiful ones. I really love the first one <3
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marian! It's great that you've been reading and writing poetry lately; I should read more poetry than I do.
